Lois's Obituary

Lois J. Slaughter, 75, of South Haven, Michigan died on March 15, 2009 at River Ridge Retirement Village.

Lois was born on November 24, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Alfred and Dorothy (Hartman) Faller. Lois was the General Manager for Michigan Orchard Supply for 33 years retiring in 1999. She also worked at St. Basil Catholic Church Office from 2001 to 2007. She was an avid animal lover and also had a passion for traveling.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Slaughter in 1994. One sister – Shirley Bentley and one niece – Deborah Slaughter–Antisdel.

Lois is survived by her daughter – Katherine (Bobby) Quarles of Bangor, Michigan and one son – David (Wendy) Slaughter of Killeen, Texas. One grandson – Steven Slaughter and two great-grandsons – Dylan and Wyatt Slaughter. A very special niece – Patricia Tatham and two very special nephews – Robert Slaughter and James Slaughter. One sister-in-law – Shirley Slaughter. Many special cousins also survive.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 17 from 6 – 8 pm with scripture service at 7:30 pm at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, March 18 at 11:00 am at St Basil Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Breedsville Cemetery in Breedsville, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil Building Fund, Al-Van Humane Society and South Haven’s Hospice at Home.
