Deloris Cecil's Obituary

Deloris Cecil Thomas, 64, of Covert, Michigan passed away on March 14, 2009 at 11:00 p.m. Our Lord called her home.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Jiles Leon Holiway and Nellie Bell Culbreath on June 16, 1945. She attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Loretto High School, both in Chicago, Illinois. She also achieved a Bachelor of the Arts degree from Western Michigan University and held an honor of Past Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star organization.

A disabled employee of the US Postal service, she was a very active member of missions work and devoted disciple of our Lord by serving at Faith Gospel Tabernacle in the church choir and always giving a kind word to others along with loving guidance and spiritual fellowship.

Deloris (D.C.) leaves to cherish her memory a loving mother, Nellie Bell Holiway, sister, Jessie Mae Johnson, brother, Thurman Holiway, Aunt Doreatha Toleson, sons, Andre’ Jerel Howard (TIP), Setzer Brown Howard Jr. (J.R.), Alfred Shurman Thomas Jr. (Spice), Andre Joseph Benson (Pint), Cedric Griffin (Ced), Jerold Sanders and Joseph Pearson, daughters; Deborah Tyler (Rodney), Jenel Henderson-Holiway, Andrea Sanders and Tawanda Hill, 39 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
