Zane's Obituary
Zane A. Johnston, 69, of Midland died Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn.
The son of the late Glenn and Blanche (Ely) Johnston was born in South Haven, Michigan on May 5, 1939 where he was raised and educated. Zane served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He had been employed with Virginia Power Company until his retirement in 1994. On October 26, 1968 in St. Joseph, Michigan, Zane married the former Helen J. Daniels. He enjoyed hunting, shooting many different types of guns and was an amateur gun collector.
Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Helen Johnston; daughter, Maryanne Johnston of Virginia; step son, Randell (Sheila) Chism of Midland; 4 grandchildren; brother Stanley (Donna) Johnston of South Haven.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 P.M. at Casco United Methodist Church with Rev. David Meister officiating. Burial will take place at McDowell Cemetery. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
