Harley's Obituary

Harley Everett Morrison, 74, of South Haven, Michigan passed peacefully at his home on February 7, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on November 18, 1934 in Cadillac, Michigan to Everett and Melva Mae (Huston) Morrison. He grew up in the Upper Peninsula forming many friendships and a bond with the U.P that lasted a lifetime. He lived in Traverse City with his family before moving to South Haven in 1964. Harley was employed at Bohn Aluminum for 30 years until his retirement. He also operated a small blueberry and Christmas tree farm. Harley enjoyed woodworking and fixing up old cars. He was a jack of all trades. He was always willing to help his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Harley is preceded in death by his wife – Delores Morrison and one brother James Morrison.

He is survived by his three sons – Gary Morrison of Versailles, Kentucky, Ron (Maureen) Morrison of South Haven, Michigan and Ken (Suzie) Morrison of Ft. Collins, Colorado and two daughters – Linda (Tony) Alfieri of Gobles, Michigan and Michelle (Matt) Ballard of Littleton, Colorado. One brother – Terry Morrison of Suttons Bay, Michigan. His fiancée – Joan Chaffee of Lake City, Michigan and her family. Fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews survive.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 11 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm with Pastor Michael Holt officiating. Burial will take place at Monks Cemetery in Geneva Township. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
