John's Obituary
John Louis Riepma, 82, of South Haven went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 30 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born April 16, 1926 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Albert and Jennie (Kuilema) Riepma. John graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Calvin College. He later did graduate work at Michigan State University. John married Joan Frederick on January 12, 1951. He worked as a buyer for the J.L. Hudson Company for 33 years retiring in 1987. John was an active member of Hope Reformed Church in South Haven.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his brother- Paul Riepma who recently passed away.
He was a loving and much loved husband to – Joan Riepma of South Haven. Father of – James F. (Fiancé Gerilee) Riepma of Remus, Michigan and Jane S. (Gary) Grysko of Saginaw, Michigan. Grandfather of three – Jared, Megan and John Grysko. Brother of Joan G. Riepma of Portage, Michigan who also survives along with many friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be Friday, January 2 from 4 - 7 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at Hope Reformed Church- at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Curry Pikkaart officiating. Burial will take place at McDowell Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hope Reformed Church.
