Doretha Perry

Doretha Perry departed Wednesday October 15, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Saint Joseph Michigan.

Doretha was born February 3, 1945 in Coldwater Mississippi. She moved to Michigan at the age of 10. She attended South Haven Public School until the 12th grade. She was a press operator for Du-wel, Bohn, and Clarion technology for the majority of her adult life and retired at the age of 61. She was very independent and a hard worker. She was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her children Kevin and Shuntoyya and her family. She love to fish, cook and go shopping.

Doretha was preceded in death by her father O.C Echols, mother Louetta Echols, and sister Bernice Franklin. She leaves behind to cherish her son Kevin (Chiquita) Perry, daughter and best friend Shuntoyya Bowen, four brothers Willie (Michelle) Echols, William Echols, Otis Echols, Clarence Echols, three sisters Rosie Langston, Marilyn Howell, Linda Echols. Five grandchildren Angie (Rocky) Fulghum, Brionna, Keyonna, Kennede & Karington Perry. Four great grandchildren Amari & Tyrique Chalk, Rockyah Fulghum and Bryce Perry-Wright. Fishing buddy Day’von Franklin Special friends Eula Foster and Marilyn White. Two godchildren Zoey Howell and Chaquara Moragne She was also a mother to her two nieces Tyrice and Australia Howell. A host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Wake will be Saturday, October 18 from 10 – 11 A.M. at the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Lee Perry and Elder Willie Echols officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
