Ollie May's Obituary
Ollie May Owens, 66, of South Haven, Michigan died on Sunday, October 5 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven.
She was born August 27, 1942 in Cullman County, Alabama to Joseph & Nellie (Kilgoar) Williams. Ollie married Jimmie Owens on April 28, 1962 in Bangor. Ollie worked at South Haven Community Hospital when she was a teenager. She then had various jobs in the area such as a nurses aid and cook at the Martin Luther King Memorial Home, a manager at Lake Bluff Motel and also worked at DuWell in Bangor.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband Jimmie Owens who died in 2008.
She is survived by five children – Tony Owens of Rushville, Indiana; Tom (Samantha) Owens of Pendleton, South Carolina; Robert (Rose) Owens of South Haven, Michigan; Dodie (William) Burrows of South Haven, Michigan; and Jody (John) Yieder of Bangor, Michigan. Two brothers – George (Linda) Williams of Hamilton, Michigan; Marvin Williams of Pullman, Michigan; and sister, Lovella Sherrell of South Haven, Michigan. Ten grandchildren – Courtney Koenig, Carrie & John Yieder, Ebony Self, Jimmie, Bobby, Amanda, Jennifer and Jase Owens, and Victoria Bradley. Five great grandchildren – Aubrianna, Alizia, Omari, Shilee and Keshawn also survive.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 7 from 1-2 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Monks Cemetery, Geneva Township. Memorial contributions can be made to South Haven’s Hospice at Home.
