Jean Elizabeth (Bloodworth) Peoples, 78, of Covert died Sunday, October 5 at Turner Care Facility in
She was born February 10, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois the youngest of six to Dock and Amy (Balkcom) Bloodworth. Jean attended Covert Public School and graduated in 1948. Jean married the love of her life, Harold Peoples on June 26, 1948 in Covert, Michigan. She enjoyed being a house wife and mother. Jean was employed for a short time at Controlled Rubber in South Haven and as a librarian helper at Covert Elementry School. She attended Beauty School at Lake Michigan College to become a Beautician.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Harold Peoples who died in 1992. Her son – Harry Peoples in 1991. 4 sister – Adlene Moore, Dotsie Crouch, Hazel Magett and Anna (Pat) Mitchell and brother John Bloodworth also precedes her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters – Harriet Hunter of Chicago, Illinois and Susan Peoples of Covert, Michigan. Three grandchildren – Deen Hunter of Houston, Texas, Tausha Hunter of Atlanta, Georgia, and Katara (William) Lowery of Chicago, Illinois. 3 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. One half sister – Mary Whitmore of Lansing, Michigan and sister-in-law – Velma Bloodworth of Inkster, Michigan. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Wake will be from 12 – 1 on Saturday, October 11 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Simon Harrington officiating. Burial will take place at Covert Cemetery. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
