Irene Ann Thaler

Irene Ann Thaler, 92, of South Haven died Sunday, October 5 at South Haven Community Hospital.

She was born November 3, 1915 in Newell, South Dakota to Michael and Louise (Testle) Thaler. Irene worked at Bohn Aluminum and Western Electric. Irene also worked for Mercy Memorial Medical Center in St. Joseph in the payroll department retiring in 1983. Irene was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church where she was involved in the Altar Rosary Society, the annual rummage sale and helped with funeral luncheons. You would also find Irene in D & W and Wal-Mart as a sample lady.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her sister – Rose Berkins-Hamlin. Two brothers – John and Bud Thaler also precedes her.

She is survived by her sister – Matilda Lynch of Brooklyn, New York and sister-in-law – Renee Thaler of South Haven, Michigan. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great niece and nephews and a special great nephew – Shane (Jill) Peters and family.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 11 from 10 – 11 at St. Basil Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil Women’s Service Guild or to Mobile Meals.
