Ernestine Hale

Ernestine Gladys (Singer) Hale, 62, of South Haven died Saturday, September 6 at Borgess Medical Center.

She was born November 25, 1945 in Lawrence, Michigan to Ernest & Gladys (Coker) Singer. Ernestine was a lifelong resident of Covert & South Haven. She loved fishing, spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and helping others. She had several friends and neighbors that she would look out for no matter what, and tend to their needs. She was loved by everyone in the neighborhood.

She is preceded in death along with her parents, Ernest Singer and Gladys (Coker) Singer by one sister – Dorothy Edward Singer.

Ernestine leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her homegoing her husband – Larry Hale, Covert, Michigan, two daughters – Julie (Bruce) Fields of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Tonya Hale, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Two sons – Larry (Darlene) Hale, of Clarksville, Tennessee and Wyatt Hale, Louisville, Kentucky. Twelve grandchildren – Jaquiece, Vanessa, Demarcus, Carlo Jr., Tenday, J’dyia, Danque, Zailyn, Samiere, Sherita, Lil’ Bruce, and Brittany. One great grandchild – Moriah, and another great grandchild on the way. Step-children – Danielle Dyson, Lillie, Rosie, Chester, E.P., Tammie & Dorothy. One sister - Betty Singer, South Bend, Indiana, and one brother – Leland (Clara) Singer, Bangor, Michigan, special friend – Leroy Ivy. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

A wake will be Saturday, September 13 from 12 – 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with Rev.
