James's Obituary
James Orr, 88, of Covert departed this life on Thursday, August 21 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
He was born August 4, 1920 in Arkansas to James and Classie (Robinson) Bobo Orr Sr. James served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. James was a proud WWII Veteran. James married Gladys M. Wilson. James worked as a core handler for National Motors retiring in 1985 after 25 years. James enjoyed bowling, fishing and playing cards.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Gladys M. Orr who died in 1993. Sister – Ethel Graves in 2003.
He is survived by his nephew – Eddie (Rita) Polk of South Haven, Michigan, niece- Flora (William) McBride-Austin of Nashville, Tennessee and a host of great nephews and nieces and other family members and friends. His longtime companion & friend – Anna M. Jones of Covert, Michigan. Her children – Dorothy M Garrett of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mattie Marcuse of Vallejo, California and Robert Dotson Jr. of South Haven, Michigan.
Wake will be Friday, August 29 from 2 – 3 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Friday at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Charles Knox officiating.
