Bette's Obituary
Bette J. Yohnka, 56, of Lacota died Sunday, August 10 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
She was born November 12, 1951 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to William and Louise (Pratt) McQuilkin. Bette married David Yohnka in 1973 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Bette worked as a department manager for the Wal-Mart store for 16 years. She was the Wal-Mart team captain for Relay for Life. Bette loved traveling the lower United States.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her sister – Donna Bon Enfant.
She is survived by her husband – David Yohnka of Lacota, Michigan. Two daughters – Shirley Yohnka of Lansing, Michigan and Heather (Al) Boettcher of Lacota, Michigan. One grandchild – Genevieve Rose Boettcher. One brother – William (Carole) McQuilkin of Albion, Maine. Three sisters – Carol (Ray) Gordon of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Linda (George) Walker of Brandon, Florida and Barbara Shaw of Portsmouth, New Hampshire also survive.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 17 from 12 – 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Carcinoid Cancer Foundation.
