Joan's Obituary
Joan Barbara Stanek, 86 of South Haven died on July 11, 2008 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Joan was born on September 2, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Mary (Olszewski) Lenert. Joan worked for many years at Murphy’s Department Store in South Haven. She was a meticulous house keeper. Joan was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church of South Haven.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband – Bruno Stanek in 2000, her sisters – Ann Mucha and Elizabeth Kojs, her brothers – Benny Lenert and Wally Lenert. Also by a nephew, Joseph Kojs.
She is survived by her sister – Helen Graham of Chicago, Illinois, her nephew - Tom Graham, her niece – Joan (Larry) Szyszka, her great-nieces – Michelle, Jennifer, Magen and her great- nephew – Patrick.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 16 from 11:30 – 12:45 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, at St. Basil Catholic Church with Rev Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
