Elliot Howard "Russ"'s Obituary
Elliott Howard “Russ” Hutchins Jr., 52, of South Haven died Friday, June 6th.
He was born September 9, 1955 in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin to Elliott Howard Hutchins Sr. and Donna (Robish) Hutchins. Russ graduated from South Haven High School in 1974. Russ worked for South Haven Public Schools as a Food Van driver. He coached JAA baseball when his sons were young. Russ enjoyed flying, hunting and fishing, spending time with his children and raising his German Shorthaired Pointers.
He is survived by his children – Cpl Eric Hutchins of Okinawa, Japan where he is currently serving his country in the U.S. Marines, Amanda Hutchins, Senior at Hope College and Kevin Hutchins, Freshman at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, both of South Haven, Michigan. His father – Elliott (Barbara) Hutchins Sr. of Dowagiac, Michigan. Mother – Donna Hutchins of Allegan, Michigan. One sister – Ann Hutchins of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Nephew – Ryan (April) Powers of Allegan, Michigan and their children – Alexander, Benjamin, Elizabeth. Niece – Jelaine (Bryan) Aprile of Colorado Springs, Colorado and their children – Jasmin, Evan, Lauren, Andrew, Sarah and Nathaniel. Ex-wife Sylvia Hutchins of South Haven, Michigan also survives.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 12 from 6 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. John Kasper officiating.
