Irene McLean-McNees

Irene M. McLean-McNees, 102, of South Haven died Saturday, May 31 at Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marshall, Michigan.

She was born September 19, 1905 in Chicago, Illinois to Eva (Lemieux) and Charles Stiff. Irene married John R. McLean. After the death of her first husband, Irene then married Terry McNees. Irene was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church. She wintered in Florida near the ocean and stayed summers at her cottage on Van Auken Lake. Irene loved to entertain family and friends.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her first husband – John R. McLean and her second husband – Terry McNees. Two brother – Harold Stiff and Rev. Harold Stiff. Three sisters – Helen Van, Priscilla Cady and Ruth Jacobazzi. One nephew – John Sloane also precedes her.

Irene was a very special aunt to all the nephews and nieces who survive her – Marilyn Seelander, Rod Sloane, Tonda Fistell, Jean Larson, Dorothy Barre, Margie Forney, Lois and Judy Van, Larry Stiff, John Stiff, Judy Ann Lesniak, Theresa Rosenberger, Tony Jacobazzi, Mary Mack, Fred, Danny and Pat Jacobazzi, Dianne McCoy, Karen O’Toole and Charles Cady.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4 from 11 – 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil Catholic Church.
