Shirley Jane's Obituary
Shirley Jane Funk, 84, of South Haven died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
She was born June 13, 1923 on Washington Island, Wisconsin to Frank and Iva M. (Young) Richter. Shirley married Robert Phillips who died in 1955. She then married Cecil Funk on February 16, 1957 in Angola, Indiana. Shirley worked as an inspector for Bohn Aluminum for 30 years retiring in 1983. Shirley attended the Casco United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her first husband – Robert Phillips. Second husband Cecil Funk in 2002. Son – Robert Phillips in 1985 and grandson - Robert W. Bild in 1993. Siblings – Harold, Ione, Royal, Warren, Glen Richter, and Jean (Richter) St.Pierre.
She is survived by her daughter – Sandra (Bob) Bild of Tallahassee, Florida. Two granddaughters – Laurel (Matt) Bryant of Tallahassee, Florida and Amanda Phillips of Bellingham, Massachusetts. Two neices, Catherine Richter Richardson of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Phyllis (Richard) Horstmann of Lombard, Illinois. One nephew, John “Skip” (Sue) St. Pierre of Algonquin, Illinois.
Memorial services will be Friday, May 2, at 11:00 AM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Rev. Harold F. Filbrandt will officiate.
