Sigmund's Obituary
Sigmund Runowski, age 73, of South Haven, Michigan passed away on April 24, 2008 at his home.
He was born December 15, 1934 in Quaregnon, Belgium to Franz and Alfreda Runowski. He was married to his loving and caring wife Helen Runowski on May 7, 1960.
He attended college in Charleroi, Belgium. Sigmund served in the Belgium Army from 1954 to 1956 in Germany. He became a United States citizen in 1963. He was most recently employed by Consumers Power as a maintenance supervisor and planner. He retired from work to care for his ailing wife in 1996.
Sigmund was preceded in death by his wife Helen. He is survived by his children Alexander and Theresa Runowski of Lawton, Richard and Theresa Runowski of Saugatuck Township, David and Ann Runowski of Jension and his grandchildren Alexis, Andrew, Paul and Helen Runowski. Sigmund’s sister Jeannette Runowski lives in South Haven and his brother Alexandre and his wife Hertha Runowski live in Chicago.
Sigmund (Ziggy) enjoyed living in the country and walking in the woods. He was an avid fisherman and also raised animals as a hobby. Sigmund loved his family and especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
