Paul Joseph's Obituary
Paul Joseph Pacwa, 55, of Covert, Michigan passed away peacefully Saturday, January 12th at home.
He was born November 11, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to Mitchell and Lorraine (Szczerba) Pacwa. Paul married Alice Faye Young on June 9, 1990 and was a loving and devoted husband with a heart of gold. Paul worked as a Ship/Boat Technician Fabricator for 35 years at several marinas in South Haven and St. Joseph area. Paul was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 667, American Legion Post 49 and St. Basil Catholic Church in South Haven. He was a Squire in the Jack Daniels Association and helped co-found the South Haven motorcycle group Michigan Independent Rider Association, M.I.R.A. Paul enjoyed Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, boating, playing his 1962 Melody Maker Gipson Guitar. He loved music and always said “Music is heard with the ears, understood with the heart.” He enjoyed NASCAR races and his favorite driver was #3 Dale Earnhardt. Paul loved Polish food and enjoyed drinking his favorite Budweiser Beer. His final days were spent enjoying listening to his birds “Spirit and Angel” and loving his faithful dog Chief. With Alice by Paul’s side. They listened to Paul’s favorite Artists music of Eric Clapton.
He is preceded in death by his parents – Mitchell and Lorraine Pacwa. His Aunt Jeanne Ross of San Diego, California
He is survived by his wife – Alice Pacwa of Covert, Michigan. Two brothers – Fr. Mitchell Pacwa of Birmingham, Alabama and James (Susan) Pacwa of South Haven, Michigan. One sister – Claudia Woodhouse of Parker, Arizona. His favorite uncle and aunt – Bernie and Sue Szczerba of Antioch, Illinois. Nephew – Ken (Sherri) Woodhouse of Parker, Arizona. Lori (Jeremy) Moore of Victorville, California.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16 from 6 - 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:30. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 11:11 A.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church with Father Mitchell C. Pacwa S.J. officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
