Maximillian (Max)'s Obituary

Maximillian (Max) Peter Storr went peacefully to his Lord Saturday morning, December 22, 2007. He was born in June, 1919, to Charles and Veronica Storr in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the third of five children.



The family moved to Elmhurst, Illinois, in 1928.

He married Alice Mullin in 1941, and three years later in 1944 started his first business, D&S Mold and Tool. Very shortly after this commercial endeavor, Max was drafted into the United States Army and retired with an honorable discharge in 1945. An avid sportsman and pilot, he and Alice enjoyed extensive travel, which extended as far as China, Japan, Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia.



He started two additional, successful businesses in South Haven, MI: South Haven Rubber Company in 1955, and Michigan Mold and Tool in 1956. Max retired from an active role in his businesses in 1971 and moved with Alice to Menominee, MI, to enjoy the outdoor atmosphere.



Max is survived by his loving wife Alice, children: Thomas and Susan DeRossett, grandchildren: Jennifer Wertheimer, Alycia Storr, Ryan Storr, Jason DeRossett and Jonathan Bordwell, great-grandchild: Alice Wertheimer, brothers: Carl Storr, sisters: Vera Hall and Evelyn Smart. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Loretta Paulsen.



Viewing will be held at Geils Funeral Home in Bensenville, Illinois, on December 28, from 7 pm to 9 pm. Religious services will be held Saturday, December 29, at the Geils Funeral Home at 11 am to be followed by internment at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois. Those who so desire may make Memorial Donations in memory of Max to any local Hospice Center.
