Ann Rosemary's Obituary
Ann Rosemary Barton Wellever, 69, of South Haven formerly of Battle Creek, died Sunday, December 2 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born September 20, 1938 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Olin William and Mary Naomi (Barton) Shane. Ann graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek in 1959. Ann was employed with Pam American World Airways/Patrick Air Force Base Florida and Cape Canaveral as a member of the “Engineering Authority Team” and was involved in many missions concerning the “man in the moon” programs. She was also a medical assistant for three doctors in Battle Creek. Ann was retired from Epworth Manufacturing Company in South Haven after 20 years as an administrative assistant. She was the original owner of “Pet Limo” and enjoyed transporting dogs and cats for their appointments. Ann was an avid volunteer for the Al-Van Humane Society and served as Monetary Donations Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Membership Chairman and on the Board of Directors. She was the first President of Welcome Wagon, Westland, Michigan and Miss Battle Creek. Ann enjoyed gardening, traveling, antiques, genealogy, fishing, the beach, sewing, flea markets, garage sales, Detroit Lions, meeting people, collecting pink depression glass, purple glass, motorcycle riding, watching her “hummers”, Elvis, and her friends. She also enjoyed the constant companionship of her 2 “Shelties”-“Annie’s Lucky Lady of White Cloud” “Lucky” and Kedron Kennel’s “Halley’s Comet”, “Halley” also known as “Halley Mae”.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by various aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by one son – Patrick (Tammy) Eddinger of Bangor, Michigan. Several cousins and two special friends – Ruth Henderson and Scott Mitchell both of South Haven.
Visitation will be Friday, December 7 from 4 – 5 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Friday at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating.
