Nancy Key

Nancy Louisa Key, 80, of South Haven died Thursday, November 15 at home.

She was born February 4, 1927 in PDCreek Arkansas to John Frank and Ethel Mae (Hodgeson) Smith. Nancy grew up in Piggott, Arkansas. She met her husband Dalton Key in Arkansas and had 8 children before moving to Michigan where they had 5 more children. Nancy worked as a migrant worker, Homemaker and Factory Worker retiring in 1983.

She is preceded in death along with her parents, husband and 3 sons – Tommy, Stephen Sr. and Jerry. Two daughters – Patricia and Patsy. Her sister – Mary Hering, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She is survived by five sons – Frank Sr. of Pullman, Michigan, Michael and Kenneth of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Ricky and Tonnie of South Haven, Michigan. Three daughters – Wanda Buttlean and Sharron Fitchie of White Cloud, Michigan, and Joyce Key of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. 66 grandchildren and 86 great grandchildren. Two sisters – Susie Fredrick of St. Louis, Missouri and Delora Blumenauer of Colorado.

Visitation will be from Tuesday, November 20 from 6-8 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 21 at 1:30 P.M at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Jones officiating. Burial will take place at Monks Cemetery in Geneva Township.
