Thomas's Obituary
Thomas V. Nowak, 69, of Glenn passed away on Tuesday, November 13 following a short illness.
He was born July 3, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley Sr. and Eleanor (Lukasick) Nowak. Thomas married Barbara Dornan on June 18, 1960. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Thomas worked in the Pipe Fitters Union Local 357 before retiring. He loved fishing, hunting, flying, sailing and traveling. Thomas was an active member of the Fennville Rod & Gun Club. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in South Haven, Masons of Michigan and AM Vets.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by one brother.
He is survived by his wife – Barbara Nowak of Glenn, Michigan. Six children – Richard Nowak, Robert (Theresa) Nowak, Lisa Compton, Laurie (David) Petek, Lesslie Nowak and Lynn Nowak. Five grandchildren – Ashley (Bolles) Fossati, Christina and Joshua Nowak, Samantha Wright and Danielle Petek. One great grandson – Michael Johnathan Thomas Wright. He is also survived by three brothers – Terrance (Joan) Nowak of Dorr, Stanley (Nancy) Nowak Jr. of Fennville and Jan Nowak of Glenn and many nephews and nieces.
Tom’s wishes were to be cremated. He wanted his family and friends to celebrate his life by getting together on his would by 70th birthday. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
