Pastor Ervin W.'s Obituary
Pastor Ervin W. Johnson, 61, of South Haven died Sunday, September 16 at his home.
He was born January 20, 1946 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Everett and Cora Ella (Garner) Johnson. Ervin married Barbara Berry on June 13, 1964 at the Coloma General Baptist Church. Ervin owned and operated E&J Cutter Grinding sinse 1983. Ervin was also pastor of the Lacota General Baptist Church for the past 7 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife – Barbara Johnson of South Haven. One son – Jerry (Jeanne) Johnson of Grand Junction, Michigan. One daughter – Marcia (Darrell) Sheeley of Groveland, Florida. Five grandchildren – Kyle & Alicia Sheeley and Kristina, Adam & Andrew Johnson. Two brothers – Eugene (Leona) Johnson and Alton (Jean) Johnson. One sister – Mary (Bob) Long all of South Haven. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19 from 4 – 7 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Darrell Sheely, Pastor Mick Schmid and Pastor Tom Langston officiating. Burial will take place at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township. Memorial contributions can be made to Lacota General Baptist Church Steeple Fund or to South Haven Area Hospice.
