Homer's Obituary
Homer Ray Hopson, 72, of died Thursday, July 5 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born December 17, 1934 in Lynn, Alabama to Lena and Luther Hopson.
Homer married Patricia Smith on July 29, 1954 in South Haven, Michigan.
Homer worked as a supervisor at Overhisel Lumber Company in South Haven for the past 30 years. Homer loved to do wood working projects and he likes to travel.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by one brother – Johnny Lee and two grandchildren – Brook and Amber Hemstreet.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years – Patricia Hopson of South Haven. 4 daughters – Susan Hopson, Katy Hopson and Miranda Hopson all of South Haven and Mary Alyce Hopson of Pullman, Michigan. 4 sons – Timothy (Cheryl) Hopson of Glenn, Michigan, Gerald (Jeane) Hopson of Fennville, Michigan, Christopher Hopson of South Haven, Michigan and Aarron (Cindy) Hopson of Douglas, Michigan. 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. One brother – Terry Wayne also survives.
Memorial services will be Saturday, July 14 at 2:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
