Donald A.'s Obituary
Donald A. Maxwell, 65, of South Haven died Thursday, May 24 from a motorcycle accident.
He was born August 1, 1941 in South Haven, Michigan to Elton and Aleda (Carter) Maxwell. Donald was supervisor of Casco Township for 19 years, Assessor for Casco Township 27 years, a member of the Allegan County Planning Commission, Treasurer and Casco representative for the South Haven Airport Authority, Director of South Haven and Casco Township Water and Sewer Authority. Trustee of the Glenn Area Business Association, member of the Fennville area Chamber of Commerce and owner of Sovereign Computing and Mapping and served on the South Haven School Facilities Committee.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by an infant son - Donnie. One sister – Polly Lawyer and Three brothers – Kenneth, Louis and Elmo also precede him.
He is survived by two daughters – Tammy Melvin of Hamilton, Michigan and Cindy (David) Maxwell Pnewski of St. Paul, Minnesota. Four grandchildren – Brittany, Brandon, MacKenzie and Maxwell.
Visitation will be From 9 – 11 on Tuesday, May 29 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at McDowell Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association or Hamilton Band Boosters.
