Janet White

Janet L. White, 74, of South Haven died Monday, May 21 at her home.

She was born March 1, 1933 in Bangor, Michigan to William and Katherine (Lyster) Krohn. Janet graduated from Bangor High School in 1950. Janet was also crowned Miss Bangor in 1950. Janet married Lawrence White on October 25, 1952 in Bangor, Michigan. She worked at J.C. Murphy Co. in South Haven for a short time. Janet enjoyed reading. Janet was an avid bird watcher. She loved to feed and watch her birds especially the cardinals. She also loved her flower gardens and her strawberries.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by two sisters – Jeannie Harrington and Betty Jo Krohn.

She is survived by her husband – Lawrence White of South Haven, Michigan. One daughter – Terry (Steven) Kenneman of New Port Richie, Florida. Three sons – David White of Dowagiac, Michigan, Rick (Theresa) White and Dan White both of South Haven, Michigan. Seven grandchildren – Melanie Hach, David White, Jillian White, Elisha Hunsacker, Lacey White, Erin White and Trenton White. Two great grandchildren – Draven and Evan Hach. One brother – Bill (Barb) Krohn of Bangor, Michigan and one sister – Pat (Jack) Prentiss of Kalamazoo, Michigan also survive.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, from 1 – 2 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Starks officiating.
