Donald Walter's Obituary
Donald Walter Decker, 76, of South Haven died Saturday, May 19 at his home.
He was born September 23, 1930 in South Haven, Michigan to Walter and Treva (Warner) Decker. Donald married Mary Gass on May 18, 1956 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Don served his country in the US Navy. Don was a member of the UAW Local #1210 and worked at Bohn Aluminum as a machine operator. He retired after 30 years of service. He was talented musically but never read music. He could pick up nearly any instrument and play it. Don loved to play the guitar, banjo, accordion and the harmonica. Don was a wonderful man and husband.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by one sister – Bertha J. Still and two brothers – Harold Decker and Lloyd Decker.
He is survived by his wife – Mary Decker of South Haven, Michigan. Two daughters – Delores (Leonard) Withey of South Haven, Donna (Decker) Gray Berwick, England. Four grandchildren – Robert Withey, Tiffany Gerbers, Celeste Olson and Jessica Decker. Six great grandchildren. One brother – Robert (Sally) Decker of Glenn, Michigan also survives.
Visitation will take place from 5:30 - 7 on Thursday, May 24 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will beginning at 7:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Ft.
