Margie Laverne's Obituary

Margie L. Newell, 78, of South Haven has gone to be with our Lord Tuesday, May 1 at her home.

She was born March 13, 1929 in Marrow, Arkansas to James Claude and Bessie Lee (Mitchell) Cisco. Margie Married James W. Newell on October 19, 1946 and they celebrated 51 years of life together. She was the longest living member of the Assembly of God Church of South Haven and an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – James W. Newell who died in 1998. Four brothers – Robert, Dennis, Lester and Albert Cisco, two sisters – Rosalee Smith and Lena Newell and a great grandson, Brian Scott Priest.

Ashe is survived by three daughters – Joan Newell, Linda (Jerry) Lampman and Connie (John) Flesch all of South Haven, Michigan. 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Two brothers – Elbert Cisco of South Haven, Michigan, Lester Cisco of Memphis, Tennessee and Ernest (Wanda) Cisco of Huston, Texas, and one sister Rena Gargus of South Haven, Michigan.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 3 from 6- 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
