Jesse J. Cannon, 92, of South Haven went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 10 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
He was born November 8, 1914 in Melvin, Arkansas to Joe and Theora (Easley) Cannon. Jesse married Georgia Henderson on November 9, 1935 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Jesse worked for Malibu and Auto Specialties Foundries. Jesse also was a bar tender at the St. Joseph Yacht Club and a cement loader for Huron Cement Company in St. Joseph, Michigan. Jesse was a member of the Covert Community Church where he was a member of the choir, Steward Board and Trustee Board. Jesse loved to sing and was a member of The Famous Michigan Jubilee Singers Quartet.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
He is survived by his wife – Georgia Cannon of South Haven. One brother – James Cannon of Gardina, California.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 17, at 11:00 AM at the Covert Community Church with Pastor Richard Bailey and Rev. Willie Leslie officiating. The wake will be prior to the services from 10 to 11 at the church. Burial will take place at Crystal Springs Cemetery.
