Jack D. Pratt

Jack D. Pratt of South Haven, died Thursday morning, December 28, 2006 at his residence with his family by his side. Jack was born October 9, 1939 in South Haven, MI to Dan and Imo (Hardy) Pratt. He served in the U.S. Navy from March 11, 1957 to October 3, 1960. On July 7, 1962 he married Janice Poindexter. Jack was a member of the South Haven Elks Lodge #1509. Jack was a man of many talents, he worked at Everett Piano Company, in South Haven, and W-L Molding in Kalamazoo before starting a business of his own, Double J Molding in August of 1969. Jack continued at Double J until July 1985, after which he had R.E.D. Plastic Inc., in Bangor, MI. Jack also did consulting work in plastic molding, and supervised the construction of many spec homes in the South Haven area. His most recent career was doing residential appraisals.

He is preceded by his parents, and his daughter Deborah Ann Pratt who died on April 27, 1990, and two brothers Donald Pratt, and Dan Pratt.

Jack is survived by his wife Janice, one daughter-Madison Pratt, three sons-Charles (Margie) Pratt, Jack Pratt Jr., and Devin Pratt, all of South Haven. Grandchildren-Tanya, Charles, Cody, Blane and Kaitlyn, five step-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Two sister-Patty (Larry) Goss of Lawton, Ok., Mary (Richard) Watkins of Bangor, MI., Three brothers-Robert (Jan) Pratt of Cape Coral, FL., Jim (Margie) Pratt of Bangor, MI., Mike (Gail) Pratt of South Haven, MI. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
