Martha Voorman's Obituary
Martha Voorman DeRose, age 90, died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Countryside Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Community. She was born August 6, 1916 to Garrett and Jennie (Stonebrink) Voorman in Wortendyke, New Jersey. On November 25, 1940 she married Titus DeRose, Sr. She graduated from Rutgers University. Martha was a teacher at Midland Park Christian School and North 4th Street Christian School in New Jersey. She was a member of Kibbie Christian Reformed Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Titus who died in 1978, 8 brothers, and one sister, and infant son David.
She is survived by two sons-Titus (Mary) DeRose of South Haven, Michigan, Garry John (Sherry) DeRose of Corning, New York, and one daughter Ruth Elizabeth Mill of South Haven, Michigan, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, October 23, 2006 from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 3:00. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerrit Haagsma officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Martha DeRose Memorial Fund c/o Kibbie Christian Reformed Church.
