Ray's Obituary
Ray Todd, 68, of South Haven died Wednesday, October 11 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
He was born May 23, 1938 in North Bend, Oregon to Marvin Raymond and Dorothy May (James) Todd. Ray married Carolyn J. Kress on October 16, 1960 in Eugene, Oregon. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard for 24 years serving Oregon, Maine, and South Haven in the Great Lakes Region from retiring in 1978. Ray was owner and operator of Harbor Towing in South Haven from 1997 to August 2006.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Carolyn Jean Todd who died 2005.
He is survived by two sons – Mike (Mitzie) Todd of Bangor, Michigan and Jason (Lisa) Todd of South Haven, Michigan. One daughter – Cherie (Darrell) Hartman of Sturgis, Michigan. 7 grandchildren- Margaret Todd, Michael Todd, Matt Todd, Corey Hartman, Jonathan Hartman, Faith Hartman, and Sydney Todd.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 on Friday, October 20 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 21 at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the South Haven Maritime Museum, Coast Guard House.
