Donald's Obituary
Donald Beiter, 87, of South Haven died Tuesday, July 11 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
He was born April 11, 1919 in Bloomingdale, Michigan to Frank and Bessie (Leversee) Beiter. Don married Myrtle Weland on September 15, 1945 in Paw Paw, Michigan. Don worked as a carpenter at Kalamazoo College for 10 years retiring in 1986. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Don attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bangor.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by two sisters – Evelyn McKeown in 1999 and Donna Bessey in 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years – Myrtle Beiter of South Haven. Two daughters – Sharon (Dennis) Doebler of Lindenhurst, Illinois and Ruth (Wayne) Couturier of South Haven. 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. One sister – Freda (Harry) Leedy of Gobles, Michigan also survives.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 13 from 7 – 9 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. John R. Kenyon officiating. Burial will take place at Hoppin Cemetery in Arlington Township. Memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
