Jessie's Obituary
Jessie Walker,83, of South Haven died July 8 at South Haven Community Hospital.
He was born October 15, 1922 in Huffman, Arkansas to Roberta (Jones) and Will Walker. Jessie married Dorothy Washington in 1942 in Osceola, Arkansas. Jessie worked at National Motors Casting for 19 years, he then worked at River View Nurseries for 14 years retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Dorothy Walker who died in 2001. Daughter – Ola Bickham in 1998, granddaughter – Deborah Chalk in 2003 and grandsons – Terrance Mackeral and LaVelle Nero both in 2006 and Aubrey Harrington in 1980. Brothers – James, Mel, Hessey, and Will Jr. Preceded also by sisters – Jaunita, Flora, Lillie, Katherine, Ethel and Mary Frances.
He is survived by Five sons – J. C. Robinson of Florida, Joseph (Crystal) Walker of Grand Rapids, Larry Walker, Bobby (Eunice) Walker, and Jessie (Ericka) Walker Jr. all of South Haven. Two daughters – Mattie Pearl Livers of St. Joseph and Annette (Kenneth) Harrington of South Haven. One brother – Namon (Dorothy) Walker of Muskegon. Grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A wake will be held Friday, July 14 from 12 - 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Bobby Walker officiating. Burial will take place at Covert Cemetery, Covert Township.
