Donald's Obituary
Donald William Kaupa, 66, of Glenn, Michigan went to be with his Lord on May 18, 2006. Don was born in Grand Rapids on January 1, 1940 to Frank and Florence Kaupa.
He married Delores Delore on September 2, 1961 and had three magnificent children. Suzan Kaupa (Bill Eshleman) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Margaret (Andy) Roberts of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Thomas (Suzanne) Kaupa of Kalamazoo.
He is survived by his children and his beloved wife, Delores, of Glenn, mother, Florence Moler of Grand Rapids, Four brothers, Roger Kaupa and Joseph Kaupa both of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Karl (Lois) Kaupa of Hendersonville, North Carolina, John (Karyl Lynn) of Bothel, Washington and one sister Trilby (Tom) Mettler of Grand Rapids, Michigan, one sister-in-law Carole Kaupa. He also leaves behind his four precious grandchildren: Alainia Kaupa, Bryson Roberts, Nathan Roberts and Madeline Kaupa.
Don served his country in the United States Navy. Then became an electrician and retired from Consumers Energy where he worked for 34 years, 30 years at Palisades Nuclear Plant retiring in 1998. He spent his winters in Lake Placid, Florida where many friendships were formed.
He is preceded in death by his father Frank Kaupa, his son, Karl Kaupa, one brother Raymond Kaupa and sister-in-law Sally Kaupa. Don leaves behind many, many friends and cousins.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Douglas, Michigan from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. with Memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Fred Hoesli O.P. officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland at 270 Hoover BLVD., Holland, Michigan 49423.
