Benjamin Rick's Obituary

Benjamin Rick Schewe, 24, formerly of South Haven, passed away May 7th in Pearland, Texas. He resided in Friendswood, Texas where he had worked for CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric LLC. He was also a business partner in Access Internet & Café in Alvin, Texas.

Ben was born May 15, 1981 in Holland, Michigan to William E. and Alta (Brown) Schewe Jr. He graduated from South Haven High School in 1999 and moved to Texas shortly after graduation. Ben was an avid Colorado Avalanche hockey fan, loved to attend Houston Astro’s baseball games, and watch Houston Texans football games with his friends, play horseshoes, attend BBQ’s, play pool and take care of his beloved pet Duck. He loved the warm weather of Texas and making a life with his “Texas Family”. He looked forward to visiting Michigan in the warm summer months to swim and fish with his dad and sisters and enjoy family time. Ben was a devoted son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle and always a friend. He loved life and looked forward to each new adventure. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents-Alvin Clare and Phyllis Brown.

He is survived by his parents-William and Alta Schewe Jr. of Grand Junction, Mi. Two loving sisters-Tristy (Jason) Kolden of Windsor, Ca and Julie (Brent Marczuk) Schewe of Kentwood, Mi. Devoted Grandparents-Beatrice and Bernard Krogel and William and Ellen Schewe Sr all of South Haven, Mi. Proud Uncle of Elliott Kolden and Raine Sauber. “Best of Brothers”-TJ Schnooberger of Jenison, Mi, James (Rona) Reist and Andrew (Kim) Sauber of Friendswood, Tx and the best friend ever-Debbie Deater of Holland, Mi. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Benjamin-you touched our hearts and we will be forever grateful.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 15, 2006 from 11:00 a.m to 12 noon at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Memorial services will begin at 12 noon at the church with Rev.
