Gerald's Obituary
Gerald T. Hughey passed on to be with his Lord and Savior May 6, 2006 at the South Haven Community Hospital. Gerald was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI August 30, 1916. Gerald spent most of his life in South Haven. He served some time in the US Calvary and enjoyed riding horses. Later he joined Ransom Brothers Painting and Decorating Company and was a skilled paper hanger. He liked to read, hike and ride his bicycle, travel, and loved South Haven’s harbor. He belonged to a home Bible study group and is loved by many.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife, Mary Jane Hughey who died June 30, 2003.
He is survived by two sons - James T. (Verna) Hughey of South Haven, Michigan., and Daniel B. (Karen) Hughey of Holland, Michigan, One daughter; Marilyn (Ken) Robinson of Hot Springs, South Dakota, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2006 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Greg Harger and Darren Briggs officiating. Burial will take place at Chambers Cemetery, Geneva Township. Memorial contributions can be made to South Haven Area Hospice.
