Lorene Moss

Lorene Opal Moss, 83, of Hartford, died Friday, October 12, 2012 at home. She was born December 24, 1928 in Providence, Arkansas to William and Lillian (Harvey) Selvidge. Lorene was a member of the Church of Christ of Benton Harbor. Lorene loved to cook. For more than two decades she was a nurse’s aide who cared for patients at Watervliet Community Hospital. In her spare time she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. Mrs. Moss is survived by four children -- Harold (Alice) Ryan of Watervliet; Lois (Lemon) Pruitt of Hartford; Larry (Gloria) Ryan of Hartford; Peggy (Harvey) Strong of Hartford. Also surviving are members of her second family – Galen Moss; Londa (Don) Wines; Edwina (Jack) Watkins; and Rick Moss. Also surviving are a sister, Elsie Skaggs of Tuscon, Ariz., and a brother, Bill Selvidge of Coloma, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husbands – J.B. Ryan and Cletus Moss; sister, Frances Ferrin and brothers - Cecil, Vernon, Lloyd, and Wesley Selvidge. Visitation will take place Wednesday, October 17 from 10-11 a.m. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rusty Stark officiating. Mrs. Moss will be laid to rest at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores .
