Patricia's Obituary
Patricia Mary Anne Munn, 72, of South Haven, died peacefully Friday, November 2, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family whom she loved so much. She was born on December 12, 1939 to Harry and Monica (Guminski) Postle in South Haven. Patricia was a 1958 graduate of South Haven High School and a member of St. Basils Catholic Church. On August 26, 1978, she married Carson Munn, the love of her life. Patricia attended New Horizons Treatment Center in 1986 where she began her devotion to helping others in their recovery. Patricia enjoyed nearly 26 years of sobriety. Patricia was certified through the state of Michigan to provide alcohol and substance abuse counseling. She was a counselor for many years at Light House Recovery Center, where she was a founding member; and also at Van Buren and Berrien Counties, where she founded a Women’s Specialty Group for recovery. In 1997, Patricia and her husband, Carson founded New Journey Out Patient Counseling Center, where she worked until 2010, with offices in South Haven and Paw Paw.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son – Robert Marr, and brother – Chuck Postle.
Patricia is survived by her husband – Carson W. Munn; her children – Tony Marr, Charles (Rhonda) Munn, Kay (Lewis) Koch all of South Haven and Monica Koblinski of Paw Paw. A brother – Jim (Melody) Postle of Shipshewana, Indiana. Patricia is also survived by 17 grand children and 10 great grand children, whom she loved with all of her heart.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 8 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with a rosary service to begin at 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 9, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Father Charles Fisher officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at the Moose Family Center. Memorial contributions can be made in Patricia’s memory to Stepping Stones, 319 Hogans Alley, South Haven, MI 49090.
