Marylin Elizabeth Koller

Marylin E. Koller, 87, of Muskegon, formerly of Chicago, IL., died late Friday evening, November 9, 2012 at the Sanctuary at The Park in Muskegon. She was born July 25, 1925 to John and Magdalena (Treinen) Hoffmann in Chicago, IL. She married Joseph Koller whom she married June 30, 1945. Marylin and Joseph have five children who live in Illinois and Michigan. Marylin was active in St. Basil Church including being a member of the church choir while living in South Haven, she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and dancing.  Marylin also was a Girl Scouts leader and an avid Cubs fan.

She is preceded in death along with her parents, John and Lena Hoffmann, by her husband, Joseph Koller, by her two brothers ,Bernard and John Hoffmann, and by her siste, Sister Johnetta Hoffmann.

Marylin is survived by her three sons – Joe (Rhonda) Koller of South Haven, Jerry (Annette) Koller of South Haven, and John (Margo) Koller of Eau Claire, MI; two daughters – Lynn (Robert) Carlsen of Elgin, IL, and Kathleen (Michael) Gilleece of Muskegon, MI, and by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  One brother, James (Ann) Hoffman of Sun Lakes, AZ also survives.

Visitation will be Friday, November 16, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven, MI. Mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday, November 17, at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Basil Catholic Church in South Haven, MI with Rev. Father Charles Fisher officiating.

Marylin will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery.   Memorial contributions can be made in Marylin’s memory to the Sanctuary at the Park, 570 South Harvey Street, Muskegon, Michigan 49442.
