Meta's Obituary
Meta DeJong, 84, of South Haven died on December 31, 2012 at home. Meta was born in Groningen, Netherlands to Johannes and Grietje (Gepke) Haumersen on August 6, 1928. Meta and her husband, Harry immigrated to the United States in 1955. She was an artist and homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband - Harry DeJong in 1983 and her parents John and Grace Haumersen
Meta is survived by her children – Ron (Linda) DeJong LTC Ret., of Toney, AL, and Linda (Steve) Brzezinski of South Haven, MI. Her brother – Jack (Mina) Haumersen of South Haven, MI and her sister - Rie Reinkingh of the Netherlands. She has 4 grandchildren – Kevin, Chris, Alec and Emma and 3 great-grand children – Inarah, Isaac and Olivia.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to Hospice at Home of South Haven.
