Richard's Obituary
Richard Eugene Byrd, 63, of South Haven, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at his home. He was born March 22, 1949 in South Haven. Richard was a 1965 South Haven graduate and served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1975. Richard worked for the Local #355 Laborers Union from 1978 to 2010. He loved to work in the yard, taking care of birds and squirrels, and was a fan of NASCAR. Richard was a member of the American Legion and the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He is preceded in death by two fathers – Eugene R. Overhiser and Bernard L. Byrd.
Richard is survived by his son- Jason (Casey) Byrd of South Haven; daughter – Trishia Schupra of South Haven; mother – Betty; four granddaughters – Chelsea, Katelyn, Carleigh, and Hailey; one grandson – Elijah; brother – Jerry Byrd of South Haven; sisters – Patricia (James) Martin and Robin (Tom) Ramsey of South Haven; two nephews – Edward and Allen Martin; niece – Heather Ramsey.
