Robert's Obituary

Robert George Mail, 86, of South Haven died on January 3, 2013 at home.  Bob was born on July 20, 1926 to George and Edith (Good) Mail in Lacota, Michigan. He served as a paratrooper during WWII with the 82nd Airborne Division in European Theatre of Operation.  Bob was a member of the American Legion and a member for over 50 years of Local 20 Sheet Metal Union. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening.  Bob and Jean had been married for 60 years.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers – Donald Mail, Kenneth Mail and Lawrence Mail.  One sister – Ruth Schultz.

He is survived by his wife – Jean (Larson) Mail of South Haven, MI, his daughters – Cathy (Philip) Carter of Elgin, IL, Debra (Brian) Schultz of Alto, MI, his grandchildren – Rachel (Ryan) Hoffman, Stephen (Jenn) Carter, John (Ashley) Carter, and Robert and Robin Schultz.  Great-grandchildren – Mikaela Hoffman, Caleb Hoffman, Joel Hoffman, Madilyn Hoffman and Wesley Carter.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 6 from 6-8 pm at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be on Monday, January 7 at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Clif White officiating.  Burial will take place at Chambers Cemetery.  Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at http://www.filbrandtffh.com/">www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
