Joan's Obituary
Joan Frances Knapp, age 82 of South Haven, formerly of Columbus, Ohio died February 5, 2013 at South Haven Community Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born January 30, 1931 in Ripley, Ohio to William and Flora Herrmann. On November 26, 1949 Joan married James Knapp in Ripley, Ohio. They lived in Columbus, Ohio until March of 2012 when they moved to South Haven to be closer to their nieces and nephews – Ron (Kathy) Dotson, Lynn (Terri) Dotson, Tim (Barb) Dotson, Paula (Norm) Tietsema, Becky (Jerry) Goodrich and James (Jenny) Dotson. Jo was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She enjoyed making clothes for her nieces and nephews. She spent many hours making Barbie doll clothes for her nieces and also loved to crochet dish cloths for her family.
Jo is survived by her husband James (Jim). Two brothers – Frank (Kathy) Herrmann of Batavia, Ohio, David (Juanita) Herrmann of Cincinnati, Ohio.One sister – Imelda Kimble of Georgetown, Ohio and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers – Paul Herrmann, Donald Herrmann, Robert Herrmann and Thomas Herrmann. Four sisters – Emma German, Hattie Herrmann, Martha Hebling and Ruth Dotson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home from 12:00 to 1:00. Funeral services will be immediately following.
