Daniel's Obituary
Daniel Alan Gates, 52, of South Haven, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born August 11, 1960 to Treston and Sandy (Weaver) Gates in Oceanside, California. A 1984 Albion College graduate, Daniel worked in law enforcement as a Michigan State Trooper until his retirement in 2007. Daniel was a member of the Casco United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Daniel is survived by his wife – Donna; children – Dustin Gates and granddaughter – Ashanti Rose of Charlotte, North Carolina, Christa Gianino of Providence, Rhode Island, and Tiffany, Vincent all of South Haven; mother - Sandy (Joe) Wilson of Hampton, South Carolina; two brothers – Steve (Pam) Gates of White Pigeon and Brian Gates of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister – Kris (Craig) Williamsen of Hampton, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 16 at 1:00 P.M. at the Casco United Methodist Church with Rev. David Meister officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Daniel’s memory to South Haven’s Hospice at Home.
