Dorothy's Obituary
Dorothy G. Vazquez, 91, of South Haven, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. She was born October 28, 1921 to Thorpe and Lucy (Skinner) Gaylord in South Haven. Dorothy worked at Everett Piano until her retirement. She married her husband – Hipolito Vasquez on April 11, 1959. Dorothy was a member of the First Church of God in South Haven. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and flowers. Dorothy especially loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Hipolito Vazquez; Daughter – Valerie Foster; her son – Keithly Lahndorf, son-in-law – Ken Covey and her sister – Maxine Biggs.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters – Millicent Covey of South Haven and Sharon (Jim) Duis of Paw Paw; son-in-law - Richard Foster. 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 16 at 1:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Starks officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest at North Shore Memory Gardens. Contributions can be made to the First Church of God in South Haven.
