Betty's Obituary
Betty "Niff" Greiffendorf, 86, of South Haven, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 14, at her home with her family by her side. She was born October 9, 1926 to William and Rosebud (Farnham) Niffenegger. She graduated from South Haven High School in 1944. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She served her church, 1st Congregational, with Women's Fellowship, served on the Mission board, served meals, participated in services at Countryside nursing home, rummage sales, Bible study and prayer groups. She volunteered in the auxiliary at South Haven Hospital, serving in the gift and coffee shop for 29 years. She was active in the Red Hats and Class of '44. She was actively involved in her community visiting shut ins and offering encouragement to those she met. Betty loved being with her family and cherished all the holidays, birthdays, reunions and visits to her B&B; creating lasting memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Alvin Greiffendorf, brother- William Niffenegger, daughter - Sandi Popp. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Penny and John Dressel of Hudsonville, son-in-law, Dale Popp of South Haven, four grand children who loved her dearly; Jody (Brian) Boughton of Bryn Mawr, PA, Kristen (Shaun) Conway of Plymouth, Mi, Jason and Jamie Popp of South Haven, four great grandchildren, Ally and Hannah, Courtney and Luke; one sister -LaRue Brooks of Mt Home, Arkansas, sister-in-laws, Pat Niffenegger, Leona Remington and Nancy Banks, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm Friday, April 19 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven and 10-11am on Saturday morning at the church before the 11:00 Funeral service at the First Congregational Church of South Haven. Rev Jeffrey Dick will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven and a luncheon will be provided by the Women's Fellowship after the burial at the church.
