Troy's Obituary
Troy Milton Butler, Sr., 84, of Grand Junction, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. He was born August 6, 1928 to Andrew and Elizabeth (Halls) Butler in Helena, Arkansas. Troy worked for the Michigan State Department of Transportation for several years until his retirement. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing cards. Troy was a commissioner for the South Haven Junior Youth League and coached youth baseball and football. He was formerly a member of Emmanuel Community Church and presently a member of Second Baptist Church in South Haven.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his three wives – LaVernen, Martha, and Vivian and brother – Raymond Stith of Chicago.
Troy leaves to mourn his children – Troy (Roberta) Butler, Jr. and Debra (Terry) Lumpkin of South Haven, Karen Richardson of Chicago, Michael (Nexus) Butler of Grand Rapids, Troy Spencer (Mary) Butler of Decatur, Alabama, and Cleveland (Jessica) Butler of Grand Junction. Twelve grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
Wake will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Emmanuel Community Church of South Haven. Funeral services will follow the wake at 2:00 PM at the church.
