Emmanuel Earl Phillips (Manie), age 37, of Atlanta, Georgia, transition his life at Grady Hospital on Friday, April 19, 2013.  Emmanuel was born November 19, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the first son of Debra Phillips Dukes, step son of Freddie Dukes and biological son of Charlie Earl Daniels.

He was educated in the Michigan Public School System and graduated from LC Mohr High school in South Haven, Michigan.  He maintained a career in Culinary Arts.  He was employed by Season 52 Restaurant as a Prep Cook and was previously employed at Ocean Prime Restaurant of Atlanta, Georgia.  His family and friends also knew Emmanuel as a barber, dancer, comedian and music lover.

Emanuel was preceded in death by his daughter Arionna Unique Phillips. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents; Debra Phillips Dukes, Freddie Dukes and Charlie Earl Daniels, Grandmother; Juanesta Irvine, Grandfather; Ralph Phillips, three siblings; brothers Charlie Phillips, Kasseem Phillips (Nicole), and beloved sister Vaniya Phillips. Devoted uncle Albert Chapman, Devoted brother in Christ Martin Escobedo, beloved friend Kimberly Braxton and a host of aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. A memorial service will follow burial at 1:00 P.M. at the New Jerusalem Fellowship Hall, 22857 County Road 681, Bangor, Michigan 49013.
