Calvin Batiste Anderson, 55 of East St. Louis Illinois, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013
He was born February 4, 1958 in Marrianna, Arkansas to Simadie (McKenzie) and Johnny C. Anderson. Calvin worked as a general laborer for the City of St. Louis for several years. He was also a school bus driver, and a cook. He enjoyed playing cards and loved sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. And telling everybody what they need and should be doing.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandfather – William Bronson Sr., grandparents – Naomi and Joe Anderson, brothers – Cossie Beason and Antwyne Anderson Sr., sister-in-law – Kim Anderson, brother-in-law – Randy Morrison, a niece - Keianna Anderson and a nephew – Elijah Lewis.
Calvin is survived by his sons – Calvin Anderson Jr. of East St. Louis, Illinois, Aubrey Hill of East St. Louis. Daughters - Brenda Hill of East St. Louis, Illinois, and Andrea Hill, of East St. Louis, Illinois. His grandmother – Roseanna Bronson of Pullman, MI, Grand children – Cortland Hill, DeAndron Hill, Calvin Anderson III, Aubry Hill III, Alex, Zale and Jevon Hill. His brothers – Johnny Anderson II, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Donnie (Connie) Anderson of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and sisters – LaDonna (Sherman) Watson of Peru, Indiana, Diane Morrison of Pullman, Michigan, Sheila (Jimmy) Kelsor of Covert, Michigan, and Vivian Dobbins of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Great Uncle – Henry McKenzie, Great Auntie – Ivarria Wilborn and Cousin – Anita Wilborn (who had become his legs). A host of nieces, nephews ad other relatives also survive.
A wake will be held from 11am to 12 pm on Saturday, June 22, at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon following the wake. Burial will take place at the Lee Township Cemetery in Pullman, MI.
